R&D Foods: A Neighbourhood Staple
R&D Foods A Neighbourhood Staple

New York / Located in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, R&D Foods is a spin-off of the restaurant 606 R&D—a café, grocer and takeout shop, opened in 2014 by James Beard Award-winner Ilene Rosen and Sara Dima, both alumni of Manhattan’s legendary City Bakery. For both businesses, WE created a visual communications strategy that captured their sophisticated yet unfussy neighbourhood charm. The restaurant, which the New York Times called “fresh and lovely,” ultimately closed, but WE leveraged its positive reputation within the community to develop an identity for R&D Foods. WE then executed on a range of applications, consulting on interior colour palettes and storefront design; creating packaging, signage and menus; and designing the website, rdfoodsbklyn.com.
