Brand Strategy Visual Identity Signage and Wayfinding Sign Locations and Messaging Production and Installation Supervision

The Planet, a former storage building and rubber factory located in Toronto’s Junction Triangle neighbourhood, is flipping the script on its industrial past and establishing itself as a place of connection, creativity and community. With the building’s next chapter unfolding, WE worked with developer TAS to help define its vision and purpose as a home for a new kind of making—defined not by hockey pucks, but by knowledge, ideas and culture. WE created a new visual identity for The Planet, including a customized typeface that’s both strange and humane, and a colour-coded sign system that helps direct people to and through the building—while maintaining the grit and friendliness that’s come to characterize The Planet. WE developed all sign designs, including messaging and placement recommendations, and oversaw production and installation.
